In response to a seemingly simple question, “Where should the dictation button go?”, a deeper transformation unfolded. What began as a UI placement challenge evolved into a quiet revolution in accessibility and empathy. Through years of partnership and precision, the team created a long-form voice dictation system across Outlook, Word, and Teams, unifying user experience and planting the seeds for what would become a foundational capability for Copilot.
With “no personal brand, only personal attention” as a guiding ethos, this work wasn’t about features, it was about relief. For those who cannot type, voice became breath. The button became a path. And the product became a quiet companion—always listening, always kind.
